A Shortcut to the State of the Art

This is descriptive, not prescriptive. A note to myself.

1. Start anywhere.
2. Ask those who credibly know know more than you.
3. Ask again, and again, and again, until you know what they'll say before they say it.
4. Take their advice as hypotheses, but test them against your own situation.
5. Wherever you stand, dig in a little deeper.

Follow this simple path and there will be few below you. What a waste that I didn't follow it sooner.
