Good API, Bad API

A quick note from work —

Isn't it such a relief to work with a service that has a simple, thoughtful API? In ten minutes I could create a Slackbot and make it post a message to a team channel. I spent an hour wrestling with the Google API and I still can't download a YouTube video the "proper" way.

When a project puts sincere effort into a clean and simple onboarding process, it really shows. I'm a sucker for care, attention, and thoughtful design. And guess whose API I never want to touch again?
